This curry is quite simple to make but very flavourful and delicious.... Cauliflower known mostly for its cancer preventing qualities is also rich in dietary fibres and is also a low caloried veggie..... and capable of playing a vital role in dieting.... (unless you deep fry them for a manchurian or 65 !!!!!!!!!!)
Cauliflower - 1 (cut into small florets)
Onion - 1 (chopped finely)
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Sambhar powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Urad dhal - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - 2 tsp
Get going..........
Boil cauliflower in hot water with salt and turmeric powder, for about 5 min until it turns out soft but not mushy. Drain them and keep aside.
Now heat a pan with oil and season with mustard, urad and cumin seeds. When they sizzle add in the onions followed by ginger garlic paste. Saute them until the raw smell vanishes. Now add in the chilli powder, coriander powder and sambhar powder. Mix them well. Add in the cauliflower florets and stir them such that every floret is coated with the masala. Sprinkle water and cook them covered for 5 mins. Turn them in between and add water if necessary to avoid burning. When all the water dries up, add in the garam masala. Stir well. Switch off and garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve them hot with rice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
