Flaxseed Moong Dal Bok Choy

I'm neither a cricket follower nor a fan. But yesterday's match.... especially the after match ceremony has made me slightly inclined towards the game. What a modesty was displayed by MS Dhoni when he said that the catch which made him have a big smile was because it was a fluke that he landed with that catch. He could have easily taken the credit for himself instead of admitting that it was a a surprising piece of luck though that wicket was badly needed to bring a turn to the match. Hats off to the Indian captain!!!!!!
OK now lets move on to this recipe. This is one interesting way to intake Bok Choy in an Indian way. Rather than always making sambhar with dal, this could be an interesting re placer....

Beetleaves Dal Curry

Have you ever cooked with beetroot leaves? If not its high time, you add it to your regular healthy menu. Otherwise known as Beet leaves or beetroot greens, these are the healthiest greens recommended as they are very low in calories with low fat and zero cholesterol. They are a great host of vitamins and have lot more nutritional values. I was introduced to these greens by a friend of mine. At first I was hesitant but nowadays these greens get into my market trolley every week. If you are looking out for something with low calories and yet tasty, then this is it.... Do give it a try, you'll never regret it..... Now lets move on to the recipe......

Dal Palak Curry

I think you would have come across the photos of Balachandran Prabhakaran shot dead..... What a horrible scene.... that too showing that 12 year old boy eating snacks just minutes before he was shot dead was all the more horrorful.... Where is this world heading? What would have that boy known about the politics revolving around him? Who ever might have done it, there could never at all be any justification.....

Moong Dal Palak

"Letting go doesn't mean giving up, but rather accepting that there are things that cannot be changed".....I do not know who said this line, but when I read them, my mind whispered.... so, there are people experiencing things like me.... but, this is what is ignored, when you utter... this is what, people who always have things falling in the right place deny to accept.... so its not that bad as you always feel, at letting things go.... it has to happen at some point...... to feel peace at mind....

Keerai Masiyal

When I saw this week's 'Neeya Naana' show, at first I thought that the topic wasn't one concerned with human interest..... as it dealt with 'faces'. But in due course of the show, especially towards the end, it turned out to be heart melting..... I was totally surprised when the 'lady with the half face' was so calm and composed with no grudge at all.... even towards the man who hurted her to this extent... It made me feel ashamed of complaining at life many-a-times for quite silly things which can just be passed over like nothing... and infused the thought that 'Life for many out there, is more miserable than what they deserve'....

Paruppu Thogayal

This is one of the simplest and the yummiest combinations with rasam.... But today I wanted to make it along with Poondu Kuzhambu and it went along well.... We loved it. Normally I do not add coconut to any of my recipes.... but you can try this one along with a tablespoon or a handful of coconut gratings and I swear it would turn divine.
